1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Snow Line Software ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use Event Countdown One (the "App") on your iPhone.
We are committed to being transparent and straightforward about data. The App does not require an account, does not connect to our servers, and does not share your personal data with us or any third party beyond what is described in the Advertising section below.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Data stored on your device
All data you create in the App — event names, dates, colors, history — is stored exclusively on your device using iOS's standard local storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device unless you back up your iPhone via iCloud or iTunes.
2.2 App Settings
Your preferences (theme, notification settings) are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted anywhere.
2.3 Advertising identifier
If you grant tracking permission via the App Tracking Transparency prompt, Google AdMob may use your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to show personalized ads. If you decline, AdMob will still show ads but they will not be personalized. See Section 6 for details.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Location or GPS data
- Health or fitness data
- Photos, camera, or microphone data
- Payment or financial information
- Usage analytics sent to our servers
- Crash reports sent to our servers
4. Local Storage
Event Countdown One saves the following data locally on your device:
- Events — title, emoji, target date, colors, recurrence type, notification settings
- History — completed and reset event records
- Preferences — theme choice and developer mode flag
All data is protected by iOS's standard sandboxing and encryption. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data permanently.
5. Notifications
Event Countdown One uses local notifications only. Notifications are scheduled entirely on your device; no data is sent to external servers to deliver them. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings app under Notifications → Event Countdown One.
We do not use push notifications (remote notifications) for event reminders.
6. Advertising (AdMob)
6.1 Google AdMob
Event Countdown One is free and supported by banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the following information to serve ads:
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA) — an anonymous, resettable device identifier used for ad targeting and measurement, collected only if you grant App Tracking Transparency permission
- Device information — device model, iOS version, screen size
- Ad interaction data — which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped
6.2 App Tracking Transparency
On first launch, iOS will ask whether you want to allow Event Countdown One to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You may allow or deny this at any time. Your choice affects ad personalization only and has no impact on the app's core functionality.
To change your choice later: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Event Countdown One.
6.3 Opt out of personalized ads
- iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads
- Manage Google ad preferences at adssettings.google.com
6.4 Third-party policies
Google's data practices are governed by Google's own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your information to any third parties. The only third-party data flow is between AdMob and your device as described in Section 6. We have no access to that data and it does not include any content from your events or history.
We may share anonymized, aggregated, non-personal information if required by law or to comply with a legal process, but since we collect no personal information ourselves, this is unlikely to apply.
8. Your Rights
8.1 Access and deletion
All data is on your device. You can view it directly in the app, and you can delete it — individually from the History screen or entirely by deleting the app.
8.2 Advertising controls
You can revoke tracking permission at any time via iOS Settings. You can also reset your Advertising Identifier in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
8.3 GDPR / CCPA
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you may have additional rights regarding data held by Google. Please refer to Google's privacy policy and their data subject request process for those rights. Since we hold no personal data ourselves, requests for access, portability, or erasure directed to us will be acknowledged but there is no personal data we can provide or delete on our end.
9. Children's Privacy
Event Countdown One is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The App uses AdMob; if you are enabling the App for a child, you can disable personalized ads via iOS Settings as described in Section 6.
10. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will note them in the App's release notes. Continued use of the App after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
